Software Engineer (Rails)

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in Ruby
• Integration with database and third-party tools and services
• Writing APIs to be consumed by frontend, apps, and third-parties
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automation

What you should already know

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as Devise, ancestry, papertrail
• Good understanding of Ruby and it's nuances
• Uncanny ability to write declarative code and an inherent urge to convert imperative code into declarative one
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as React, or at least HTML + jQuery
• A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Familiarity with git, working with git-flow is a bonus
• Familiarity with deployment to AWS, familiarity with docker and kubernetes is a plus
• 1-2 years of experience
